Course Platform Privacy Policy

E-Learning Office, trading under EXPAND Global GmbH, is a business providing organizations with learning technologies, services and digital learning content aimed at end-users of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Windows.

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations, as well as in accordance with this privacy policy. Data is considered personal if it can be clearly assigned to a specific natural person.

By means of this data protection declaration, we would like to inform you of the nature, scope, and purpose of the personal data we collect, use and process on our course platform. Furthermore, this data protection declaration informs you of the rights to which you are entitled.

The purpose of our course platform is for online training. Use of our course platform only possible with the provision of personal data. Personal data is stored by our course platform exclusively for the purpose of enabling the delivery of our online courses and reports. Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties and will only be processed by us in accordance with the provisions of the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR) and in accordance with the applicable country-specific data protection regulations. 

The categories of personal data collected are as follows:

  • First Name, Last Name and E-Mail address of the user
  • User Name
  • Password (can be changed)
  • City, Country
  • Activities in Courses
  • Learning Activities - Completed and In-Progress
  • Learning Scores and Results
  • Log data on the activity of the user, stating their IP address, activities carried out and time of activity.

Our course platform logs and stores usage data in order to enable the participants and training administrators to report on course grades and usage statistics. Usage data includes the name of the user, the name of the pages or courses that the user has seen, the time and date of the visit and the IP address from which he came. Course-specific data are collected according to the SCORM API. The SCORM data that our system collects for course usage includes the start date of the course, the date it was last accessed, the pages viewed, the total time, the topics viewed and the score.

We expressly state that data transmission on the Internet can have security gaps. Seamless protection of data from access by third-parties is not possible.

In order to make use of some of the offerings on our course platform, for example individual requests for information or demo access, it is necessary, independently of any previously existing contractual relationship, that we receive personal data from you for our processing and use. Personal data are single details relating to your person such as your name and e-mail address.

The collection, processing or use of your data for purposes going beyond the description above will only be undertaken by us in cases where you have expressly permitted it or where permitted by law.

Our course platform makes use of cookies in order to recognize repeat use of our website by the same user/internet connection subscriber. Cookies are small text files that your internet browser downloads and stores on your device (computer, tablet or smartphone). They are used to improve our website and services. Cookies do not damage your device or contain any viruses.

We only use technical cookies to ensure that visitors to our website can browse the site correctly and securely. Cookies that may affect the confidentiality of the user’s browsing experience are not used on our site.

You can prevent cookies from being installed by adjusting the settings on your browser software accordingly. You should be aware, however, that by doing so you may not be able to make full use of all the functions of our course platform.

  • Purpose: You must allow this cookie into your browser to provide continuity and maintain your login from page to page. When you log out or close the browser this cookie is deleted (in your browser and on the server)

  • Purpose: This persistent cookie is used to remember the username, so that when a visitor revisits the course platform site, their username will be populated in the username field of the login page.

On the basis of the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), you may contact us at no cost if you have questions relating to the collection, processing or use of your personal information, if you wish to request the correction, blocking or deletion of the same, or if you wish to cancel explicitly granted consent. Please note that you have the right to have incorrect data corrected or to have personal data deleted, where such claim is not barred by any legal obligation to retain this data.

Your personal data and usage data will be completely deleted from our systems within 5 working days after the expiry of your contract or demo access.

On our website we offer you the opportunity to contact us, either by email and/or by using a contact form. In such event, information provided by the user is stored for the purpose of facilitating communications with the user. No data is transferred to third parties. Nor is any of this information matched to any information that may be collected by other components of our website.
